Tentative Outline
Would you like to boost your knowledge and have the confidence to successfully treat pregnant clients? Would your practice benefit from being able to effectively communicate with obstetricians, family physicians and midwives?
Topics covered during the two day workshop will include:
- A brief overview of TCM & western concepts
- Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy
- Treatments for common problems which occur during pregnancy including: nausea, severe vomiting, fatigue, anxiety, stress, bleeding in the first trimester, heartburn, hemorrhoids, back and joint pain, pelvic girdle pain, edema/swelling, sciatica, elevated blood pressure, insomnia, urinary incontinence, carpal tunnel, headaches / migraines, constipation, and itching
- How to prevent threatened and habitual miscarriages
- How to stop premature labour
- Techniques to induce labour
- How and when to use the forbidden points: discussion of new research
- Turning a breach baby using moxa and other techniques
- Dealing with Oligoamnios (a deficiency of amniotic fluid)
- Problem based learning from real cases
